Dr. Irene Lee Wai Fong
Dr Irene Lee is the co-founding Director of Prospect Rainbow together with Datin Karen Hng.
Dr Irene is a medical doctor graduated from Trinity College, University of Dublin, Ireland and worked in UK before returning to Malaysia. She has a special interest in child development, neurodevelopmental disorders & Movement Based Learning. From her experience in working with families with children with special needs and also with helping her youngest child with sensory processing disorder, she found her life mission. Prospect Rainbow was then set up with the mission to help the special needs community by providing much needed services & empowering parents through consultation and training.
Dr Irene has retired from medical practice but still spends time with her Prospect Rainbow team to continue to improve in providing better services to the community.
Datin Karen H’ng
Datin Karen H’ng, co-founding director of Prospect Rainbow Centre. Datin Karen is also a parent with a son with special needs and she shared the same mission with Dr Irene Lee – hoping to provide help and services to the special needs community.
Centre Director
Sherine Ann Selvarajah
Ms. Sherine graduated from University of Leeds in 1996 with a BSc. Psychology. She then pursued her Masters at the University of Hertfordshire and graduated with a MSc. Developmental Psychology in 1999. She did her student placement in a tertiary-based clinic in Watford, UK. She is currently pursuing a Certificate in Competency of Educational Testing and will soon be a British Psychological Society (BPS) Registered Test User.
Upon her return to Malaysia, Ms. Sherine joined the Department of Psychiatry at HUKM as a research assistant. In June 2001, she joined the HELP Institute’s Centre for Psychology as a Lecturer and Trainer and was practising part time at the Pantai Medical Centre, Bangsar. In 2003, Ms. Sherine moved to Penang and joined Prospect Rainbow, offering psychological services to children with special needs.
In 2006, Ms. Sherine joined Gleneagles Penang, a private medical centre, as a visiting child developmental psychologist. Currently, she is the Centre Director of Prospect Rainbow and continues as a visiting consultant as Gleneagles Penang.
Her area of interest is in children with learning disabilities and developmental disorders. She carries out various assessments on children from the ages of 12 months to 17 years old. She does intelligence testing, developmental assessments, screening for autism, screening for learning disabilities (dyslexia) and behavioural assessments. Based on the assessment, the necessary needs are addressed through individualised intervention.
Educators
Our team comprises of a number of dedicated and passionate educators, assistant educators and administration officer. All of them possess a diploma or bachelors degree in Psychology, Education or other related fields.
